Name: Darren Gillon D.O.B: 28/6/81 Born: Berwick-upon-Tweed, 28th June 1981 Position Played: Midfield Joined Coldstream: July 2005 Time spent with the club: 2 years Other clubs played for: Spittal Rovers & Berwick Rangers About: During his spell at Coldstream, Darren was the heartbeat of the side and one of the most influential players in the East of Scotland setup with his pace, determination and general approach to the game a nightmare for opposition defenders. In 1996, as a teenager, Darren suffered a horrific leg break whilst playing for Berwick Rangers. His determined character shone through however and he went on to play over 250 games for Spittal Rovers in the Northern Alliance Premier Division, making a full recovery from the setback. His direct style of play and constant running means he covers every blade of grass and the player has created interest among various East of Scotland Premier Division clubs. Signed in 2005 by Coldstream, Darren now plays his football at Kelso Utd in the E. o. S. first division after suprisingly dropping a standard to link up with ex Coldstream boss Thomas Blaikie, who is assistant at Kelso Utd. Honours: Promotion to E. o.
